Update: Federal government’s tax on health benefits

The federal government is considering taxing employer-paid health and dental plans, currently a non-taxable benefit to employees.

This would have significant consequences to members of Teamsters Local 213, such as increasing  federal and provincial income taxes and increasing CPP and EI contributions. This will result in payroll administration changes and less take-home pay for members.
