Teamsters 213 was pleased to offer an intensive and interactive Shop Steward Seminar in Kelowna in May. It was specifically designed to enhance our shop stewards’ knowledge and skillset
Local 213 training co-ordinator Konrad Sears started off the morning session with a presentation on our Training School. Our school’s purpose is to provide Teamsters members with the knowledge skills and ability to further promote “Teamsters Work” at the highest and safest level possible in heavy construction roadbuilding and pipeline construction.
Dave Schaub, director of mediation from the BC Labour Relations Board, continued the morning session with education on legal framework, legislation, negotiations and mediation.
Jamie Donnelly, Teamsters Canada’s director of education (English), provided comprehensive and interactive training on Canadian Labour History, the Art of Communication, Generations at Work and Alternative Dispute Resolution for our afternoon session.
