The Nisga’a and Tahltan nations, and Arrow Transportation Systems have agreed to purchase Stewart Bulk Terminals Ltd., which owns and operates the port in Stewart, B.C. The deepsea terminal allows the transportation of critical minerals from mines like Brucejack and Red Chris.
Because Arrow is one of our signatory contractors, all workers at the port, and hauling to and from the port, will be Teamsters 213 members under the pre-existing collective agreement.
We are excited at the opportunity to strengthen our presence in the north. This deal will bring sustainable, good-paying jobs to the community for years to come. Teamsters 213 continues to grow in every corner of B.C.!
We are also honoured to be a part of this important step in the reconciliation process with the Nisga’a and Tahltan peoples.
